The Hand & Hammer 12 Months Series started in 2001. The back is flat and suitable to wear.   Each of these Ornaments have an original design presented by Hand & Hammer exclusively.  They are the perfect size to wear on a chain or ribbon.  The Year is divided into Twelve months and to us that seems perfectly natural, but the history of the months, their numbers, names, division, and order is complicated.   The Romans had ten months most of which survived and two of which were renamed to honor the Caesars Julius and Augustus.  January and February were added nearly 700 years later.   Today, each month has a sort of Personality from associations to holidays and weather.  This series of collectibles commemorates the essential character of each of the months of the year.
