7 Swans A Swimming Sterling Christmas Ornament 1999 Hand & Hammer 2273

Condition: Collectible - Like New
Price: $68.00
On the seventh day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...7 Swans A Swimming, 6 Gees A Laying,  5 Golden Rings, 4 Calling birds, 3 French Hens, 2 Turtle Doves, And a Partridge in a Pear Tree. The earliest well-known version of the music of the song was recorded by English scholar James O. Halliwell in 1842, and he published a version in 4th edition The Nursery Rhymes of England (1846), collected principally from 'oral tradition'.  In the early 20th century, English composer Frederic Austin wrote an arrangement in which he added his melody from "Five gold rings" onwards,  which has since become standard. The copyright to this arrangement was registered in 1909 and is still active by its owners, Novello & Co. Limited.

Hand and Hammer Sterling Ornament Pendant - 2273 Seven Swans A Swimming 7th Edition.  This ornament is part of the Hand and Hammer 12 Days of Christmas series that started in 1993 and ended in 2004.  This  item is about 1-3/4" Tall by 2" Wide.  This sterling ornament is made to wear on a chain, or use on a tree.  The Twelve days of Christmas are a perfect way to use the ornaments as pieces of jewelry.
